Wonderful summary Joe. Thanks for that... 👍
Hi Joe,
Good catch... This is a bug withing the TradeStation/TradingView integration, which should be reported to TradingView for them to correct.
You can do that by going to Help Center > Support Tickets > Contact us and opening a new ticket.
Our guess is that there is a symbol issue. In TradeStation you can chart $SPX.X which refers to the underlying index related to AM expiration SPX options, or $SPXW.X which refers to the underlying index related to weekly PM expiration SPX options. While in the end we are pointing at the S&P 500 index, it looks like such index is handled differently by TradeStation and by TradingView where TradingView only uses one ticker symbol which is "SPX".
Unfortunately, this needs to be reported to them and we would suggest some patience as it feels like it could be a difficult problem to fix...
Regards...
Hey Mark, this can be addressed much more efficiently by emailing [email protected] and attaching screenshots that show what you see... Do you mind doing that so our support team can help you? 👍
Patience tends to pay, isn't it?
Nice one Joe!
Love it!
Great explanation Joe. Wise words which highlight some of the key pros and cons when trading ICs and your setup... Like life and like all options strategies... Always pros and cons... Happy New Year everyone!
Hi Mark,
This type of need would normally be addressed using a market data API and computer code to pull historical data and present historical opportunities based on your setup rules.
For example, one could use the databento or the Yahoo Finance API with Python code to do that...
In one hand, it is quite simple, on the other hand it does require programming language and experience.
Something helpful could be to use Jose Blasco GPT and prompt for this code to be produced by the GPT: https://chat.openai.com/g/g-tVZB9D5Mw-jose-blasco-gpt
We hope this helps...
